For my, blog is a place for us to plan something.
A blog is a type of web page which is designed to be updated frequently and easily by the owner. This flexibility enables the blog owner or ‘blogger’ to take their blog in almost any direction they choose. Some blogs take the form of a news commentary and some are dedicated to a particular hobby or activity, while others are simply an online diary. The latter type of blog rarely extends it’s readership beyond family and friends unless the blogger is constantly doing something very interesting. The subject matter of your blog is therefore the first thing to consider. If the most popular blogs have one thing in common it is that the blogger is passionate about the subject matter.
Blogs have the advantage of being very easy to design and publish. In fact, you do those tasks the other way round as you first create a blog and then decide how it will look and the functions you require on it. The two most popular forms of blogs are Google’s Blogspot blogs and those offered by WordPress.
Once you have a blog set up you will need to decide on the look and feel you want for it. This is easy to do and you should take your time to make sure that you have the right type of design which will favourably reflect your content, while at the same time offer plenty of space for advertisements and other money making activities. Then it is time for content.A blog will live or die according to the frequency and quality of the content posted on it. Readers will return frequently to a high quality blog and will recommend the blog to other like minded people.
The next task is to decide how you want to use the blog to create an income. There are a variety of proven income-generating methods which can be used either independently or together. Placing contextual advertisements on your blog is a good idea to start with. With this type of advertising the blogger creates a space on the blog where adverts will be placed. The adverts will reflect the subject matter of the blog content so will probably be advertising goods or services which are of interest to the blog visitor. When a visitor clicks on an advert link, the advertiser is charged a fee and a proportion of that fee is passed on to the owner of the blog where the click, or sales lead, originated.
Another income generating method is to review or promote products relevant to your blog content which have an affiliates program. For example, if you have a food blog and decide to review a cookery course which you have signed up as an affiliate of, if a reader decides to purchase the course they would click on a special affiliate link which you place in successful, completed sale you will get paid a percentage of the sale price.
Blog Promotion.
In order to promote your blog, you will need to spread the word about it to groups of people who share similar interests. These people can be found posting on message boards and forums which have a related subject matter to your blog. Join these forums and introduce your blog to the members. Also post comments on other related blogs providing a link back to yours. Other good sources of traffic are the social networking and micro-blogging sites. Start a new group or fan page on facebook which can then be linked to your blog and seek out and follow people on twitter who share your interests and tweet about your blog. Providing your blog is getting regular fresh content of high quality, you will soon build a following.Blogging for profit cannot be called a get rich quick scheme but it can develop an income over time. How large an income you will enjoy will really depend on your commitment to your blog and your diligence in maintaining a steady supply of relevant content. The best news is that you have nothing to lose by starting a blog as nothing mentioned in this article requires any monetary investment at all.
